Table 4 Ten

THE 2009 EVENT

This was the 2nd year for Table4Ten, with 55 venues and 550 guests participating. In 2009 we raised $165,000 in cash for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. In addition to this Table4Ten received $330,000 of in-kind donations.

There are 3 main events for the year:

  • Launch Event, on June 16th 2009, Taj Hotel Group’s Blue Hotel at Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf kindly hosted Table4Ten’s launch. This was the first event in the lead-up to the main event in September.

Blue Hotel was also the location for the 2008 main event’s secret after party. We think it’s a nice continuity to welcome in the next year from the space that hosted the previous year.Approx 120 guests gathered to launch the event including: sponsors, chefs, restaurants, catering organisations, media, prostate cancer survivors and Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia all came together to pay thanks to everyone that contributed to the success of 2008, and also to launch the 2009 season. It’s rare to see so many famous chefs in one room – the photographers had a field day! It was a very exciting evening, and also a way of giving back a little something to all the people and organisations involved in supporting Table4Ten.

The inaugural Table4Ten Magazine was  launched on the evening with each guest receiving a copy of what was a truely coffee-table-grade publication. The Magazine is a great way of showcasing all the supporters of the Table4Ten community. If you’ve attended the main event, chances are you will be in the magazine.
Dani Lombard Public Relations ensured the media and chefs were well looked after, and that all hosts received a goodie bag on their way home.

The Table4Ten magazine was also launched, showcasing all the restaurants and sponsors involved.   Over 20 media covered the event – click here to see photos from this great evening.
  • Allocation Evening, as KPMG emerge to become the official auditor for Table4Ten with involvement nationally, their corporate hospitality suite at King St Wharf was once again the venue to host the 2009 Allocation Evening, thanks to the kind partnership support of their National Managing Partner Chris Hall.

Luscious canapés, Peroni beer, Glandore Estate Wines and a special cocktail designed by Toko Restaurant on Crown St (aptly named a ‘Tokotini’) were served to chefs, restaurant representatives, media, sponsors and the greater committee. A particular welcome was conveyed to dinner hosts who gathered to draw out their allocation for dinner at one of the 55 restaurants and special catering sites.

As patron chef Armando Percuoco (Buon Ricordo) and Andrew Giles (CEO PCFA) called hosts to draw a select article and determine their dinner destiny in September, a luminated bar topped with champagne, garnished with strawberries and laced with pearls revealed numbered tags concealing the venue code. This part of the Table4Ten journey is definitely one of the highlights for those involved and sets the plans for the main event to come.

  • The Main Event - 22 September, and this is what we were building towards. Approximately 55 of Sydney’s finest restaurants hosted 500 guests in a single evening. All alcohol and transport was provided, as well as a great after-party at a secret location.

We raised $330,000 of in kind support from which we generated $165,000 cash to contribute to the cause.
