THE KERRI-ANNE SHOW Kicking off Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and to celebrate the impending 2009 Table4Ten event, one of Australia’s most well known TV personalities, Kerri- Anne Kennerley, brought Table4Ten to the nation when she invited 10 of Sydney’s leading chefs to cook live on “Mornings with Kerri-Anne” at the Channel 9 studios. Each chef prepared one of their signature dishes as “KAK” chatted to each of them in front of her Australian audience about the importance of prostate cancer awareness, through early detection and the role that Table4Ten plays in support of the cause. Justin North from Bécasse, Tony Bilson from Bilson’s, Paul McMahon of Catalina, Sean Connolly of Astral and Sean’s Kitchen, Colin Fassnidge from the Four in Hand, Greg Doyle from The Pier and Antonio Ruggerino of Verde each cooked a stunning main dish, while Joe Camelleri from Beppi’s, Darren Taylor from Buon Riccordo and Michael Moore from Summit Restaurant prepared mouth-watering desserts. “The amount of co-ordination required to have ten of Australia’s finest chefs in one room cooking on live television had to be seen to be believed!” said Table4Ten Chairman Robbie Robertson. Robbie explained to Kerri-Anne and the public the origins of Table4Ten and the journey it’s been on over the last 3 years in Sydney. “It was a massive project requiring mobile kitchens from Electroluxe, a flurry of pots, pans, refrigerators, ingredients and impeccable timing from the chefs to ensure that each segment was ready to air in its scheduled time slot. Despite this, each chef was a picture of poised calm as they delivered their dishes – “each one more impressive than the next”, observed event organiser and public relations representative for Table4Ten Dani Lombard. To ensure that this gastronomic feast did not go to waste, four tables of ten were set up in studio, filled with prostate cancer sufferers, survivors, their families and friends who were waited on by none other than the chefs themselves - capturing the epitemy of the spirit of Table4Ten.
